Only to name a few. These are some of the meaningful quotes concerning Children and Early Childhood Education that has an everlasting impression on me.
"Experts tells us that 90% of all brain development occurs by the age of five. If we don't begin thinking about eduation in the early years, our children are at the risk of falling behind by the time they start Kindergarten."
-Robert L. Ehrlich-
"Children are like wet cement. Whatever falls on them makes an impression."
-Dr. Hiam Ginnot-
"Too often we give our children answers to remember rather than problems to solve."
-Roger Lewin-
I love quote that you have posted by Roger Lewin. I feel often that education is more about children memorizing facts and answers rather than exploring, learning experiences and understanding problems.

ReplyDeleteAntowah those were really good thought provoking quotes. As women we complain that men try to solve our problems rather than just let us vent and serve as sunding boards. I think parents make the same mistake as men. Just because your child mentions a problem or situation to you doesn't mean he wants you to solve it or even intervene. Acquiring and using problem solving skills are such an important part of a child's development and future success in school and as an adult.
