"Breastfeeding... more than just Nutrition"
I’ve been an advocate for breastfeeding for several
years. I’ve became an advocate when I had an experience with a breastfeeding mom
while volunteering at WIC Nutritionist. I learned that breastfeeding is the best
you can give your baby, it has all the nutrients, babies are less likely to
suffer from colds, flu, ear infections, and may help the mom return to normal
weight. Also, I had a client that was physically disabled and obese to breastfed
her baby for 12 months without formula supplement and lost 30lbs. I was so
inspired to encourage all of the moms to breastfeed.
Infants are breastfeed for at least 6
months for their life. Working mothers nevertheless continue to
breastfeed even though they are still working. This is a
challenge that the US continue to make places breastfeeding friendly. I will
continue to volunteer services in this field where I will promote breastfeeding
because of the tremendous benefits. My motto is, “Breastfeeding...more than just
good nutrition.”
I totally agree. Breastfeeding is more than just good nutrition. It helps a child to be free of all those childhood sickness in most cases. Breastfed babies are more healthier than formula fed babies because they receive their nutrients from the mother’s milk. I’m an advocate for breastfeeding and I wouldn’t feed my infant no other way.
ReplyDeleteI chose breastfeeding and I think we have alot more to do in the area of making it ok here in the United States. I breastfeed my children and it was a wonderful experience for me one that I would not trade for the world. The only issue was when I stopped and the pain boy the pain but hey like I said it was worth it@@@@
ReplyDeleteBreastfeeding is the best nutrition an infant can get but not everyone can breastfeed. I was one of those moms that could not breastfeed and I became very emotional wondering if I was starving my child. My son had a tired tongue which is where the skin under the tongue is attached all the way to the tip of the tongue. This caused my child not to be able to latch on and I starting crying so much that I felt as if I was starving my child and wonder why he was wanting to eat every 10 mins. Once I found out why he would not latch on I had to switch to formula. In the meantime I encourage all new mothers to try breastfeeding unless they have a medical reason they can not.
